Melinda Covey-Hansen

Established in July 2022, Health in Place is the consulting agency of Melinda Covey-Hansen, whose work in creating healthy communities has been recognised by State and National awards from The Heart Foundation and Parks and Leisure Australia. 

A public servant turned consultant and academic researcher, Melinda has over 15 years experience in creating healthy communities through:

  • Strategic, systems-thinking, multi-sector planning and policy development

  • Collaborative partnerships and network development

  • Co-design and community-led projects

  • Sustainable program development, coordination and evaluation

Melinda’s qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Human Movement Science

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Honours)

  • Graduate Diploma of Public Health (Health Promotion)

Melinda is currently completing a PhD focusing on active living policy in local government (2024-2027). Melinda specialises in supporting local government in creating healthy communities.
